Tanya Mittal is an India-qualified lawyer with experience in international and domestic arbitration, commercial disputes, and insolvency & bankruptcy matters. She has worked on complex, high-stakes matters across sectors like construction, oil & gas, and infrastructure, representing both Indian and foreign clients. Tanya’s experience includes drafting arbitral awards, advising on legal strategies, and representing domestic and international clients before various tribunals and courts, including the Supreme Court of India. Tanya has a strong academic background and holds a B.B.A., LL.B. degree from Symbiosis Law School, Noida.

Key Highlights:

  • Played a key role in assisting in complex, high-stakes domestic and international
    arbitrations (both ad-hoc and institutional) across diverse sectors, including construction, oil & gas, renewable energy, and infrastructure.
  • Successfully represented a Singaporean company in an expedited SIAC arbitration seated in Indonesia and governed by Singaporean Law, involving claims of non-performance under a contract for the sale and purchase of steam coal and secured an arbitral award of USD 2 million.
  • Advised a private university on the validity of degrees awarded at off-campus centers in light of an adverse direction issued by the Ministry of Education.
  • Successfully prevented the initiation of corporate insolvency resolution process against an Indian construction company on two occasions before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT).
